Sheldon Stone ’78, who also serves on the Columbia Business School Board of Directors, will accept the Horton award for his instrumental role in the expansion of the Justice Through Code program to Los Angeles, his dedicated efforts to strengthen the Loan Assistance Program — enabling MBA graduates to pursue impactful careers in the public and nonprofit sectors — and his significant contributions to the Value Investing Program, where his teaching has deeply resonated with his students.
About the Horton Award
The Horton Award recognizes individuals or organizations who are dedicated to social or environmental causes and have used management skills to benefit society. This award is named for Professor Ray Horton, who established social enterprise as a program at Columbia Business School.

The Changemaker Award is named in honor of the Carson family, recipients of the 2016 Horton Award, for their longtime support of social enterprise at Columbia Business School and the nonprofit community in NYC. The award recognizes current students who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to and leadership in the field of climate and social enterprise.
