Petar Mirovic

CEO at EnGoPlanet

Petar Mirovic is the founder and CEO of EnGoPlanet, a clean tech start-up from New York City.

Originally from Belgrade, Serbia, Petar moved to the United States in 2008 to proceed with the MBA program at Hamline University in Saint Paul, MN. After graduation Petar moved to New York City where he pursued a career in commodity trading industry.

After three years working as a commodity trading specialist he decided to resign and form his own company.

The idea behind starting the company was to deploy smart off-the-grid solutions powered by clean energy sources in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels but at the same time provide practical alternative energy in emergency situations.

The trigger to start the company occurred after the devastating consequences of Hurricane Sandy, when many areas in New York were without power for days, causing complete disconnect among people.

Today, the main focus of the company is the development of Smart Street lights powered by solar and kinetic energy. The company finalized their first installation in Las Vegas in August 2016. By the end of the year they expect to install 50 more units, and the plan for 2017 is to have 550 units installed.
