Liv Buli has spent the last 10 years working at the intersection of data and storytelling and leads the in-house editorial team at Civil Media Company. Previously, Liv was a senior data journalist with Pandora Media and Next Big Sound, where she led their data-driven storytelling efforts. She penned a music and data column for Forbes, MusicBytes, and has spoken at conferences around the world from SXSW to BigSound. In addition, Liv is a professor at Berklee College of Music where she teaches a graduate-level class on data analytics, and in her spare time (not that she has any) she writes children’s books about data visualization.
Liv holds a master’s in journalism from NYU, and has written for the New York Times, Newsweek, Billboard, Adweek, Forbes and others. Liv lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two young daughters. Originally from Oslo, Norway, Liv’s passions include shrimp sandwiches and egalitarian society.
