Norin Chaudhry is the director of international relations and outreach and grants at Saving 9. She is tremendously motivated towards growing both as a social entrepreneur and a research scientist with the ultimate goal of making a difference in people’s lives and helping create communities of care in Pakistan. She was an integral part of the team that participated in Columbia Business School’s Tamer Fund for Social Ventures, which will enable Saving 9 to establish the first women-led and run ambulance system, mental health ambulance system, and the bystanders response system in Pind Bhegwel, Pakistan. She was also part of the runners-up team that participated in the Seeds of Change pitch competition by the Lakshmi Mittal South Asia Institute at Harvard that helped setting up the first ambulance in Pind Bhegwel and training emergency medical personnel that have handled over 140 emergencies within six months of ambulance launch.
She completed her BS in biology from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and went on to complete her masters in molecular, cellular and developmental biology on Fulbright Scholarship at Iowa State University (ISU). She was part of LUMS Emergency Medical Services (EMS) where she met the co-founders of Saving 9 and, together with them, was responsible for training students in pre-hospital care under the capacity of both head of training and development and later as the president of LUMS EMS. She handled over 100+ emergencies of trauma, medical, and psychological natures. She has also been engaged since in training the general public and scouts in Pind Bhegwel.
