HERE to HERE
Lazar Treschan joined HERE to HERE as the organization’s vice president for policy and impact in the summer of 2019 after 12 years as the director of youth policy at the Community Service Society of New York (CSS). At HERE to HERE, he leads the organization’s efforts to translate and expand on its work to demonstrate how work-based learning and career pathways can improve outcomes for young people and employers in the Bronx and citywide. At CSS, he was successful in reforming and expanding the city’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), changing admissions at the city’s specialized high schools, and other efforts to increase investments and change policy to improves the lives of young people who interact with public services. He is a native New Yorker, adjunct professor at several local universities, and has a master’s from Harvard University.
