Kyle is a rising second-year MBA student with a focus on entrepreneurship, data science, and diversity. Before Columbia, he led youth journalism at the LA Times through a digital startup called High School Insider (HS Insider). The program works with over 250 schools and 2,000 students to help define the high school experience and empower them to make their voices heard in Southern California. Beyond content, HS Insider offers paid internships, events, contests, and conferences throughout the year with a focus on elevating underheard voices. 

Finck also helped lead various venture projects across the company, including the Times’ first major audio venture Dirty John. The six-part series was published simultaneously in print, podcast, and digital, garnering over 4 million listens and 1.7 million page views in its first two weeks and recently appearing as a scripted series on Bravo. Prior to joining the LA Times, he worked for the Center for Investigative Journalism in Berkeley, CA, CNN Money, and Sports Illustrated.
